Here are a few of the reasons why Canada is a good fit for you:
Education Quality
Canada’s educational and living standards are among the best in the world, and the country’s high academic requirements and stringent quality controls ensure that you’ll receive a high-quality education that will open doors for your future and boost your career in the long run.
Education at a Reasonable Cost
International students can expect lower living and tuition costs in Canada than in other nations such as the United States and the United Kingdom. Going to school in Canada is cost-effective, and you’ll obtain internationally recognised credentials that will put you on the fast track to career success.
Diversity
As a student in Canada, you can expect a pleasant, multicultural atmosphere among people who are polite and accepting of other cultures. With nearly every ethnic group across the globe represented in Canada, it’s difficult not to come across a wide range of international cultural activities, cuisine and recreational activities.
Prospects for Immigration
Canada encourages students with a successful track record in Canadian education to settle in Canada. At the conclusion of eligible academic courses, you would be able to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which entitles you to work for any employer in Canada for a period of time equivalent to the duration of your course; up to a maximum of 3 years.
Upon completion of 12 months of full time work under a PGWP you would be able to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency, which is a pathway to Canadian Citizenship. What’s more, you are able to claim time spent under the PGWP towards time spent in Canada when applying for Canadian Citizenship.

Both languages are taught in Canadian universities, and as you advance in your studies and develop your profile for employers, you will have the opportunity to hone your language proficiency in two of the key global languages.

The Canadian Education System
Canada invests heavily in its educational system. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Canada is one of the world’s top education performers, ranking among the top three countries in terms of public post-secondary education spending per capita (OECD).
The Canadian Post-Secondary Education System
The post-secondary education system in Canada is divided into:
- Certificate level, generally for a year
- Diploma level, for one or two years
- Advanced Diploma, generally two years
- Bachelor degrees, awarded after four years of full-time study
- Post-graduate Diplomas/Certificates, for one or two years of study
- Master’s degrees, available after a bachelor degree to excel in a certain subject, for one to two years
- Doctorate or PhD, generally four to seven years
Academic Year
Most colleges and universities offer classes from the beginning of September through to the end of April or the beginning of May. The academic year is typically split into two terms, one “fall” term running from September to December and the other “winter” running from January to April. To accelerate your education, you can enroll in different types of spring and summer studies. There are also a few schools in Canada that provide year-round education.
Undergraduate degrees may take three or four years to finish, depending on the university. Postgraduate degrees can take anywhere from one to two years to complete, depending on the type of degree. Master’s degrees typically take one to two years, and PhD programs are lengthier than in other countries, usually taking anywhere from four to seven years to complete.
Teaching and learning style
Canadian universities are committed to research and high-quality teaching, as well as providing opportunities for students to improve their learning, careers, and lives. University classes consist of a mix of lectures, labs and tutorials. Professors teach lectures, which might have anywhere from 30 to 200 students, and a linked component, such as a lab or a tutorial, is commonly included as well. The tutorial or lab for a course provides a more in-depth examination of topics. The average tutorial class size is between 20 and 30 students
FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Education costs
There’s no denying that studying abroad can be expensive. However, when compared to the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, Canada has the lowest tuition rates for international students. You’ll need between CA$7000 and CA$29,000 every year to cover tuition. However, this is a rough estimate; actual costs will vary depending on the institution and program you’re looking for, as well as your location and lifestyle.
Scholarships
Scholarships and awards are available at some Canadian universities and schools for international students who excel academically. The amount of money varies by institution. Scholarships are relatively difficult to come by as compared to other countries, and the application method is generally to apply directly to the institution that offers them.
